September 25, 2020Tony Christian, President and CEO of RAMS feels all successful people not only take pride in what they have built, but pride in those who helped them build. According to Tony, there are many hard decisions to make when running a company, many of those are personal. “I believe everyone who works at Resource Asset Management Solutions (RAMS) is a vital part of our success,” he says. “Therefore, I treat everyone with respect and admiration they deserve

RAMS was born out of necessity. Tony worked for a company that sold to a much larger firm, the larger firm handled his job at the corporate level, therefore he was let go. “I knew there were services (needs) that my previous employer wasn’t offering,” says the steadfast leader. “I created a company that would fulfill those needs and help revolutionize the industry by offering pinpoint solutions in electric grid reliability issues.” Tony knows that an entrepreneur must exercise good judgement in solving complex problems related to all aspects of a business. Employees are the backbone of any and every organization and they should be treated in the same way
“Finding people who take ownership in their daily work, who show up and are ready to work and employees who are self-motivated to succeed. We have learned from our mistakes; we are now processing 100’s of applications to find the one right person. We’ve changed our way of thinking; we aren’t just filling a position, we are bringing on a team member, a partner that will help take RAMS into the future.”
Using industry best practices coupled with a modern approach, RAMS is making a positive impact in the Mid-Atlantic region and continues to expand its service offerings. RAMS has always taken the approach to make an impact or don’t bother. And today as they move forward, they are constantly challenging their team to bring new and innovative ways to serve the clients. “In doing this, word has spread to other utilities and RAMS has been asked to bring our systems to them in order to provide unparalleled solutions to their reliability issues,” adds Tony.
RAMS field crews hold tailgate meetings at the beginning of every work day and new job-sites to discuss field safety and cover any potential hazards that may be encountered. Safety is paramount to the success of RAMS and they want to share as much knowledge as they can with the employees, give them all the tools
they need to arrive to work safely, work safely and return home safe! The more information they can derive from daily work conditions, the better this will prepare all employees. “We have been fortunate not to have any recordable accidents for 7 years. I use the word fortunate, not lucky,” says Tony. “Safety is not luck, it’s a mindset that has to be on the forefront of every employee’s mind. We start talking about the importance of safety in the interviewing process and never stop talking about it.”
There are several examples of customer issues RAMS have helped solve over the years. “I don’t want to reflect on just one, we work with each client, discuss the issues they’re having and develop an individualized approach to helping them solve whatever the problems are,” says Tony. “That doesn’t always mean RAMS will get the work. There have been several times we have recommended solutions we don’t offer. Our goal is to form a Partnership with our clients, help them become the best they can be, if that happens, I consider everyone successful.” The future looks very bright for RAMS as they continue to increase the size of their footprint throughout the East Coast and Midwest. “We are constantly looking and trying new ways to improve our customer service and new innovative services we can offer our clients.”
