Home is a Great Place for the Holiday’s

During this time of year we there is so much emphasis on home. Home is important to families, and our RAMS family loves to assist in providing homes to those who are in the process of purchasing their first home through Habitat for Humanity.  On December 16, we had the opportunity to show up for our second RAMS-Habitat Build Day. Just so you have an idea of what we are working with, we thought you could use some more information about Habitat for Humanity Choptank.

Habitat for Humanity International, generally referred to as Habitat for Humanity or simply Habitat is an international, non-governmental, and non-profit organization, which was founded in 1976. Habitat now works in 1,400 communities across the U.S. and in nearly 70 countries and has helped 6.8 million people achieve strength, stability, and independence through a safe, decent and affordable shelter. Habitat for Humanity Choptank, an affiliate of “Habitat International“, is a nonprofit organization operated on Christian principles that seek to put God’s love into action by building homes, communities, and hope.

Through financial coaching, education and support, and access to affordable financing, Habitat for Humanity Choptank provides an opportunity for individuals and families in the communities where they operate, to purchase a quality construction, energy efficient, affordable home. Home ownership with Habitat creates a solid foundation for our hardworking neighbors to build their lives on.

Through Habitat for Humanity Choptank, lives are changed, neighborhoods are revitalized, our community property tax revenue is enhanced, and we keep a solid workforce in our area.

Habitat for Humanity Choptank has an open-door policy: which means everyone is invited to help. That’s what gets us on site every time we have the chance to host a work day.

Habitat welcomes us and any other volunteers and supporters regardless of race, religion, age, gender, political views or any of the other distinctions that too often divide people.

Everyone that qualifies to purchase a Habitat home is encouraged to apply. Habitat for Humanity enables people from all backgrounds to become a homeowner regardless of race, religion, age, gender, political views.
